CAMPAIGN TO KEEP GIRLS IN SCHOOL
Many wise world leaders say, “Educating a girl is educating a nation.”
The current King of Yaos Twaib John Mndala Chimbalanga II has encouraged many parents to send their daughters to school to prevent early marriage and pregnancies in Salima, the Central Region, and other parts of Malawi.
Officials of Yao Development Foundation heeded the call of the current King of Yaos. They are really encouraged by the promise of the current President of Malawi, who pledged to extend free education from kindergarten through terminal grade ( till the final year of high school) to all Malawian children next year.
The Yao Development Foundation officials saw this as a tremendous opportunity for many parents to educate their children.
They then launched a campaign in various neighborhoods of Salima, meeting with numerous parents and traditional leaders.
They organized seminars for parents and traditional leaders to raise awareness about the importance of girls' education, as girls in Salima and many other parts of Malawi often drop out of school due to parents'financial problems , early marriage and pregnancies.
Officials of the Yao Development Foundation support the Malawian President's vision.
The Executive officers of the league of United Kingdoms of Afrika ( LUKA) support this successful plan to encourage girls to go to school to benefit free Education.
The Executive officers of the league of United Kingdoms of Afrika applaud all African President who promised free education in their countries and fulfilled their promises.
