THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF YAO CHIEFS OF FEBRUARY 27/2025

The Regional  conference of Yao Chiefs of February 27/2025 was successful.

Many Yao Chiefs from Tanzania, Mozambique and Malawi were at Mangochi discussing about the Coronation of their traditional King John Twaibu Mndala Chimbalanga II and the rebuilding of the historic Yao Royal house.

Nine Chiefs from the  Eastern and Southern regions were appointed as the committee to prepare the Coronation.

More than hundred Chiefs requested support to the executive directors of the Regustered trustee of the Yao Development Foundation  to fulfil their wishes.

Two yaos jealous senior Chiefs attacked verbal the DC for allowing this regional  conference to take place in Mangochi. 

The DC for Mangochi proved them wrong as they could not have right to stop the majority of Yao Chiefs of good hearts who wished  to  bring development in his district. 

That Regional Conference of the Yao Chiefs contributed to the economy of his district as the hall was paid,

The restaurants and hotels had more customers, 

Some food supplyers of  Mangochi sold  more goats, chickens, bags of rices and beans, 

the local journalists were booked and paid to cover the event...etc. 

So the DC for Mangochi is continuing  to support the regustered trustee of Yao Development Foundation due to its excellent objectives. 

Four Yao Chiefs of machinga who did not participate to this historical regional conference regreted so much.

All participants were so excited

As their transport, hotel, and restaurant costs were covered by Yao Development Foundation.

To mean they received  best treatments which they could not  get from many years  under Chiwanja Cha Ayao.

Every Chief was free to share  his " her" thoughts in the Conference and the  munites were recorded.

Some Yao Chiefs of Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania shared their histories to inform the others. 

Let us take exemple of Chief Akida Wabu 

Who dug deep about the history of first  Yao Majimaji , the Yao resistants" Warriors " who were the first black nation to   oppose the German  colony   in Tanzania. 

He reminded many yaos to join politics to occupy some key positions in the government of Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique to strengthen their Unity. 

To close his speech, 

Chief Akida Wabu gave an official  letter to the deputy chairperson of Yao Development Foundation on the behalf of Yao Chiefs of Tanzania. 

In this letter, the Yao Chiefs of Tanzania pleaded  His Excellency President Lazarus Chakwera to recognise the Traditional Yao  King John Twaibu Mndala Chimbalanga II officially in Malawi. 

Mufti Shamihuna Sosola shared more  about the establishment of Yao Kingdom by his ancestors in 1860 which was covered current Malawi, some parts of Zambia and Mozambique. 

He also reminded the yaos about their contributions in Malawi government from many years. 

Mufti doctor Lifa called the Yaos to continue to support Yao development foundation in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique for the advancement of their culture and traditions. 

The Journalists from the Malawi broadcast corporation "Radio and TV" were covering the event.

Some volunteer local journalists were there.

The Coronation of the Yao traditional King is expected to take place around June 2025.

All yaos  will be happy if  HE President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will recognize their traditional King officially as other African, some Asian and European traditional Kings.
